Author Bio  (via GoodReads)

I am a writer, reader, lover of animals, and eater of cookies. I used to be a marine biologist, but now I write novels. And not novels about fish either, but novels about kick-butt heroines and swoon-worthy rogues (I really like swoon-worthy rogues).I live in the Midwest with my husband and two dogs (Asimov and Princess Leia), and you can learn more about my crazy thoughts and crippling cookie-addiction on my blog or twitter.
My debut, SOMETHING STRANGE AND DEADLY is now available from HarperTeen along with the prequel, A DAWN MOST WICKED, and the sequel A DARKNESS STRANGE & LOVELY.
Look for STRANGE & EVER AFTER in summer 2014 and TRUTHWITCH in fall 2015!

Title:
Strange and Ever After (Book #3)
Author: Susan Dennard
Publishing Date: July 22nd 2014
Publisher: HarperTeen

In the conclusion to the trilogy that Publishers Weekly called “a roaring—and addictive—gothic world,” Eleanor Fitt must control her growing power, face her feelings for Daniel, and confront the evil necromancer Marcus...all before it’s too late.

He took her brother, he took her mother, and now, Marcus has taken her good friend Jie. With more determination than ever to bring this sinister man to justice, Eleanor heads to the hot desert streets of nineteenth-century Egypt in hopes of ending this nightmare. But in addition to her increasingly tense relationships with Daniel, Joseph, and her demon, Oliver, Eleanor must also deal with her former friend, Allison, who has curiously entangled herself in Eleanor’s mission.

With the rising dead chomping at her every move and Jie’s life hanging in the balance, Eleanor is convinced that her black magic will see her through to the bitter end. But there will be a price. Though she and the Spirit Hunters have weathered every battle thus far, there will be consequences to suffer this time—the effects of which will be irreversible. And when it’s over, only some will be able to live a strange and ever after.

Don't forget to check out my reviews for the Something Strange and Deadly books by clicking on the covers bellow!

1. How did you get into writing?

I started writing when I was ~12 or 13 and realized that I could make stories like the ones I loved to read! Those authors were people with daydreams like mine, so if they could write down their stories, why couldn't I? It was a major aha! moment for me. :)

2. When starting a book how much of it comes straight from your imagination and how much is research?

Well, it's all from my imagination, but my imagination is a culmination of 30 years of experiences, 30 years of reading and studying, 30 years of traveling and exploring, and 30 years of being me. So in that sense, I suppose the books I write come from all the things I've done and seen and learned in 30 years. :)

3. Who is your favourite character you have written and why?

Oh goodness! I don't have a favorite. Whomever I'm writing at the moment is my favorite...for now. Then, when I start the next scene or project, that POV character becomes my favorite. :) I "become" those characters when I'm writing, so if I don't love them, that would be problematic.

4. Do you go into a book knowing how you want it to end?

Yes. I definitely shoot toward a target as I write. However, the ending is very likely to change as a I draft. My target and ending will shift and rewire as new ideas come along.

5. What 5 books would you recommend for your readers?

Oh, tough question! I think if you enjoyed Something Strange & Deadly, you'll also enjoy Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan, Torn by Erica O'Rourke, The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong, The Beautiful and the Cursed by Page Morgan, or The Emperor's Edge by Lindsay Buroker.
